Asset Protection Manager / Regional Training and Development SME

2025 - Present 

  •  Lead and develop a team of Asset Protection Agents, providing training, coaching, and guidance to ensure compliance with company standards and state laws.
  • Lead shrink reduction efforts across several business units
  • Direct all theft prevention, safety programs, and loss reduction strategies to minimize shrink and protect profitability.
  • Conduct and manage investigations into internal and external theft, fraud, and policy violations, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism throughout.
  • Apprehend theft suspects in accordance with Nordstrom policy, including the use of physical detainment and handcuffs when necessary and legally justified.
  • Regional Training/Development and Recognition Captain
  • Partner with law enforcement, regional investigators, and corporate partners to address Organized Retail Crime (ORC) and other large-scale theft activity.
  • Collaborate with store leadership to analyze incident trends, assess risk, and implement strategic action plans.
  • Oversee the use and maintenance of surveillance systems, alarms, and access controls to ensure optimal security performance.
  • Lead emergency response and crisis management efforts, ensuring the safety and preparedness of all employees and customers.
  • Certified Investigative Interviewer using W-Z & IAI methods to gather intel and information regarding internal and external investigations. 
  • Maintain detailed reporting, case documentation, and performance metrics to support company objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Drive Operational Shrink Reduction efforts by identifying process vulnerabilities, improving merchandise handling and shortage controls, and partnering cross-functionally to strengthen operational efficiency and accountability.

  •  Maintain consistent and effective communication with Assets Protection Team Members across stores in Group 190 & District 172 by utilizing internal platforms for streamlined collaboration, facilitating real-time communication on apprehensions and stops for enhanced situational awareness. 
  • Compile and maintain accurate records of Apprehensions, Productive Merchandise Recoveries & Known Theft Reports by using internal platforms.
  • Identify and investigate theft, fraud, and other related incidents.
  • Utilize surveillance tools and techniques to monitor and apprehend external theft subjects causing loss to Target.
  • Work with law enforcement and external partners as necessary to prosecute offenders.
  • Train and educate team members on security protocols and safety procedures.
  • Assist in the management of a team of Assets Protection professionals.
  • Support team members by providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Monitor and operate security systems, including PTZ, Still Frame, and Covert cameras.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of the store to identify potential vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, local laws, and regulations.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Promote a “Not Here” culture inside Target stores by assisting in the leadership of the Assets Protection team.
